Every question you ask goes through three steps. First, the assistant decides which of your records could actually answer it — tasks, budget, notes, whichever's relevant, never all of them by default. Second, it searches just that domain for specific matches. Third, only those matching snippets — never your whole vault — get sent to our AI provider to generate a plain-English answer.
If nothing relevant turns up, it says so rather than guessing. That same scoped search is what powers voice actions below — the assistant looks up a task, note, or transaction by name before it can change or remove it, using the same targeted lookup, never a blanket read of everything you own.

Every voice command is processed through on-device speech recognition on both Android and iOS — audio never leaves your phone, even as a fallback.
Once your words become text, the same command can create, edit, complete, or delete: tasks, notes, budget transactions, calendar events, and home inventory items. Setting or removing a monthly budget limit works the same way.
Nothing executes immediately. Every proposed action shows a confirmation card with exactly what was understood — the title, the date, the amount — before anything saves. Non-money actions save automatically after a few seconds if you don't touch the card, matching how low-stakes a brand-new task or note really is. Money always waits for an explicit tap, and so does every edit or deletion, since those change or remove something that already existed.
The one place voice actions can never reach is your document Vault — no voice command can add, edit, or delete a document.
"Zero-knowledge" and "AI-powered" both get thrown around loosely. Here's exactly what each one means in this app, including where the boundary actually is.
Every document and inventory photo is encrypted on your device, before it's ever uploaded, using a key derived from a passphrase only you know. We store two independently-encrypted copies of that key — one wrapped by your passphrase, one by a one-time recovery code — and never the raw key itself. Nobody at KGKV, and nobody who somehow got into our database, could read your original files.
The text recognized from a scan is stored separately, in our regular database, unencrypted — specifically so the AI assistant can search it when you ask it a question. This is a deliberate tradeoff we're stating plainly rather than rounding up to a blanket "zero-knowledge" claim: the photo/scan file itself is fully protected; what that document says is server-readable.
When you ask a question, the assistant searches your data and sends only the specific pieces relevant to that question to our AI provider — never your entire document vault, task list, or notes in one shot.
If you never upgrade, none of the above server-side handling applies to you at all — your documents, inventory, and everything else exist only in the app's local database on your device.
Track what you own: name, category, room, purchase price, and a photo. Add a warranty expiration date and the assistant will flag it proactively as it gets close, without you having to ask. Every item can link to a note or the receipt in your document vault.
Tasks carry a due date, priority, and real reminder notifications, plus recurrence for anything that repeats — weekly trash day, a monthly bill. Calendar events sit on the same day view as your task due dates, so everything due or scheduled on a given day shows up in one place.
Notes support rich text — bold, checklists, headings — and can link to a document, an inventory item, a task, or a calendar event, so the context around a note stays connected instead of scattered.
Set a monthly limit per spending category and log income and expenses against it, including bills that repeat every month. The assistant will tell you if you're on pace to go over before the month ends, and can log a transaction for you by voice — always with an explicit confirmation, since it's money.
